Twelve Kiwi Days Of Christmas!! ★

We were learning to make 12 days of christmas but Kiwi edition. With one of our Kiako Mrs Barker she read a book to us which was her Daughter's. It was Pukeko in the Ponga tree. I was in a group with Ethan Wright,Carter venter and Calais Harnett. We made a whole slideshow with our own sentences and song :)

It was hard to cooperate with my ropu because we kept getting distracted, kept fidgeting and having big conversations with other groups and our classmates.

I found it easy to find backgrounds to match the sentences and find sentences that will rhyme and make senses with the song because we had a huge books with Aotearoa Animals and we had already had some ideas in our mind that we were going to use! :)

Cybersmart Reflection!

This year in Cybersmart we have been learning about so many tools and skills and even some mindset work when we are learning! Today my ropu and I have been working on for the past 1-2 weeks to finish this project for Manaiakalani! :)

Some of my favourite things that I've learned to do include are images from the explore tool because it's free and there's a bunch of images I can choose from and when I type something it's the exact thing I want.

Some of the things that have been the most challenging are co-operating

Some things I wish we had learned about that we didn't, or learned more about are

When we made our review, I was thinking about how to work more cooperative with my ropu because it was a challenge trying to get one of them to do the screencast and another to make the script.

What Christmas Means To me! :)

For the past weeks Team Toroa and I have been writing a doc about what Christmas means to us and what we do to celebrate. We will be sending these writing papers to the Gisborne Herald. They have given us a opportunity to write what christmas means to me, They will be choosing ten people from the Gisborne Schools but only one of those ten people will be winning a shopping voucher.

I enjoyed creating the piece of writing because it took me back to spending time with my whanau and all the great memories on Christmas.

I found it challenging to fit all of the writing onto the one doc because I had so much more to write about but I felt as if it was too much.

Next time I will make more slides so its more interesting instead of just one.

Guy Fawkes Acrostic Poem!!

During our two sessions of tuhi we learnt and created a piece of an acrostic poem about guy fawkes. At the start of the session our kiako lit some sparklers and showed us a video of the London fireworks at the start of 2020 to help us create a picture in our mind. Guy Fawkes in New Zealand are on the 5th of november, On November 5th in New Zealand we can either set a fire on the sandy beach or obviously set off fireworks.

I enjoyed watching our kiako light the sparklers they brought because it was interesting what they drew, wrote and the smell smelt nice.

I found it challenging to think of words to fill the letters because I couldn't think of any words that would match the topic and the letter.

I found it easy to find the font and to make my words show more than the background.

Next time I will use more interesting words and more words to add to the sentence.

Digital Postcard!

Today in our Manaiakalani session we learnt what's real and what's fake, We also learnt how to be safe online and how to avoid scams, We also created a digital postcard! We learnt that there must be a padlock in the URL.

I enjoyed choosing my background cause it was interesting to think about all of the interesting ideas I had in my head.

I found it challenging to get my whole body into the photo because I was to big so we had to do a lot of adjustments to get the right photo that would fit the shot.

I found it easy to make a paragraph about my "Trip" to the skate park! I found it easy because I already knew my idea while Mrs Williams was talking to us about these postcards.

Next time I will make my "trip" a more interesting part, So the paragraph I wrote is more interesting then my first one!

10 Things That Make A Good Recount!

Today in our writing session Addison(My Writing Buddy) and I made a google doc, We discovered and wrote 10 words that make a good recount!!

My learning goal for the remainder of term 4 is to cooperate with my buddy better,  talk to my buddy more so we know how each other work and would like to work so we are more comfortable to work together.

In a recount I need to use rich words in my paragraphs more often so it is interesting for the reader so he/she would like to carry on reading an interesting recount not a boring one and stop reading.
